I’ve lost my internet footprint

So, saying I’ve been busy kind of goes without saying.

Saying I’ve got stress…it’s always there.

Saying my wife has been staying current with blogs and reading them more than me is just embarrassing.

Saying I need a break is redundant because…well, I’ve been on one for quite some time now.

Ugh…I don’t know. I need to figure things out. Figure out how this can become a community again. Figure out what I have to contribute. Figure out next steps.

Until then, for those still reading, my online footprint will remain over at The Joint Review and twitter and I’ll try and get my act together quickly.

The Joint Goes Official!

BIG NEWS PEOPLE!

In March of this year 2 of some incredible blogging buddies of mine and I kicked off a fun project called the Joint, where we reviewed music in a ‘multi-personality’ format. We’ve had a ton of fun with it. I’ve been stoked to be a part of it and get to know these guys better and interact with ya’ll around the subject of music.

Well we’ve picked up another voice and now 4 of us are cranking out the music reviews. Up most recently has been the review of Fee’s Hope Rising. Before that we had Brenton Brown, Todd Agnew, David Crowder*Band just to name a few. It’s our hope and desire that through the voices of 4 different fellas putting in their thoughts into a review with a brief synopsis, a bottom line verdict, and our own personal favorite tracks and songs that we think could help your worship services that you’d enjoy an incredible introduction to some new and familiar artists!

Some of you have already picked up on it but I’m stoked to announce that the Joint Review has gone “official” and moved from this:

What I Learned From Dying

Sunday night a week ago I sat down for lunch at about 9:30pm after an incredible weekend. I got a call from my Dad informing me that my Aunt Ida Mae (just so you know, she’s technically my Great Aunt b/c she’s my Maw Maw’s sister) had died over the weekend.
Monday afternoon getting ready for her funeral my wife got a call from her Mom that Rae’s Paw Paw had died.
Thursday after his funeral we got notified that my niece’s grandfather died.

So 3 deaths in one week was pretty substantial. But nonetheless, its had me thinking which is why this blog has been so quiet. That should change tomorrow…if I could ever get to sleep.

David Crowder’s CHURCH MUSIC Delivers! Review & Wine Metaphor

I am stunned and shocked by the intensity this worship project brings. It’s absolutely ruining the rest of my music collection right now!

As many of you know, today’s the day! New David Crowder*Band goodness for you to feast on. And let me tell you, it is yummy goodness! We’ve featured it in our multi-perspective review BLOGSITE The Joint Review.com (yup we went pro on you and made our own site!) and I highly recommend you check it out. Shucks just go buy the CD and then read the review while you dig in!

I do warn you! This worship project is not for the faint of heart! It has been masterfully thought out thematically, lyrically, and stylistically and shall be like your favorite red wine. One that with each sip gets better and better and truly gets better with time! But I encourage you to drink deep!

My Holy Hangover

First off: Mad props to Shawn for the term Holy Hangover.
So what is a Holy Hangover? It’s what we in the ministry affectionately call that feeling we get on Monday Morning. Especially after a day like yesterday:

• 1:30 – going to bed b/c we are at the beach and get to sleep in tomorrow morning!
• 7:30 – Up and packing
• 8:30 – Breakfast
• 9 – Lead worship for last weekend retreat session
• 10:30 – Say goodbye and pack up
• 11:30 – Grab a bite to eat
• 12 – On the road!…with 2 kids..ugh….
• 4:10 – Backing trailer into the driveway…Orange Beach -> Baton Rouge in 4 hrs! BOOYAH!
• 4:15 – Pulling out of the driveway in Rae’s car
• 4:38 – Youth group! (8 mins late)
• 6:20 – Wrapping up Youth (20 mins late but was so worth it! Amazing youth tonight!)
• 6:30 – Changed and off to downtown
• 7 – Arrived at Whitney’s Celebration Service for 10 Years at First Pres.
• 8:10 – Hugging and goodbyes
• 9 – Eating lunch…dinner…um…whatever
• 9:30 – Check emails put on Psych! It was a Bollywood theme!
• 11 – Heading to bed. Probably one of the earliest in months…years?

And voila: Monday Morning’s Holy Hangover.

Kanye West: Before and After

I am SO SICK of saying, “Man I really love that guy’s music, I just wish he’d keep his stupid mouth shut when he’s not singing.” When a stunt last night can be referred to as “Taylor Swift getting Kanye-d” then enough is enough. I don’t care that he was downing a bottle of Hennesy. I no longer care how talented he is. I know MTV shares the blame with this and it’s another reason why I don’t remember the last time I watched that station.

The Speed of the Internet!

Minutes…hours…after Kanye West showed how much of a ass he is on MTV VMAs (sorry G rated audiences that’s probably the nicest way to describe that jerk) this pops up on youTube! Hilarious. Stunning. Speedy.
